About Dr Barrie Stevenson

Dr Barrie Stevenson is an experienced Emergency Medicine doctor working within the NHS and serves as Urgent Care Lead for a private clinic. His clinical work has given him extensive experience assessing patients, managing risk and making treatment decisions tailored to the individual.

Before entering medicine, Barrie spent a decade teaching overseas. He holds a BSc in Anatomy and Physiology (1997) alongside his MB ChB (2013). This combination of science, education and experience beyond the clinic has shaped an approach based on listening carefully, explaining things clearly and involving patients in decisions about their care.

Barrie is also a published author, with three works of medical fiction drawing on his clinical experience. On Instagram and TikTok, he shares stories from medicine and creates patient education content, building an engaged audience interested in understanding their health.

As a TRT patient himself, Barrie also brings first-hand understanding of what it means to navigate symptoms, weigh up treatment options and commit to ongoing therapy. He knows what the process feels like from the other side of the consultation.

At MYTRT, Barrie assesses patients, prescribes and manages treatment, and provides regular follow-up to monitor their response and make adjustments where appropriate. His approach is individualised, taking account of each patient’s symptoms, goals, lifestyle, blood results and response to treatment, and grounded in the belief that good care starts with genuinely listening.
